The Company
Arbutus Partners provides third party marketing services to established allocator contacts for emerging asset managers looking to access the IIROC retail brokerage market, family offices, investment counsellors and small institutional accounts in Canada.
We work with experienced allocators looking for undiscovered fund managers to improve the investment portfolio of their investors. We are involved in all aspects of a fund manager’s sales, marketing and product development. Our focus and expertise allows us to grow assets and significantly shorten the lead cycle. Our asset managers clients love running money and generally have few if any full-time sales or marketing staff.

Our History
Having witnessed first hand the allocator and investor benefits of helping many smaller funds and smaller fund companies grow, representing the next set of tomorrow’s potential winners was critical in the 2014 formation of Arbutus in Vancouver. With the emergence of the fund managers in the beginning of the new millennium, and in particular after the financial crisis of 2008-2009, it cemented to us that the role of emerging managers, especially in the alternative investments and asset space will be more and more prominent. Our passion therefore is to identify those managers in their early adopter stage and to shine a light on them in the market
